On Good Friday, Cyprus Legalizes Abortion
According to the above news article, the government of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus has voted 33-8 to legalize abortion.
No surprise there. But they waited until Good Friday to do it – a slap in our heavenly Father’s face if there ever was one.
Of course, the U.S. and other western nations have been allowing abortion, and even providing abortion services to their citizens via taxpayer funds, for decades.
Well over 54 million babies are said to have been aborted in the U.S. alone, since 1973, when the Supreme Court handed down its decision in Roe v. Wade.
That’s 54 million murders of innocent life, right in the womb, which is designed to be the most protected place for new life, with the mother’s arms after birth being the next most protected place for new life.
Why is this ongoing destruction (i.e., murder) of the innocent being allowed to happen?
Satan is the “God” of This World
It’s because Satan is the god of this world. Most Christians tend to forget that fact. But it’s completely Scriptural. Let’s take a look:
As it’s written:
John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Indeed, Christ’s kingdom is not of this flesh world. Nor has it ever been. Satan is the god of this world. Not our heavenly Father. And not Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. God is in charge of all things, of course, even of the enemy. But if you truly know your Bible, you know your heavenly Father has put Satan in charge of this flesh world.
Known as the “prince of this world” (John 14:30), the “god of this world” (II Corinthians 4:4) or even the “prince of the power of the air” (Ephesians 2:2), it is that old adversary of ours, the devil, who rules over this world, and he will continue to do so, with God’s permission, until Christ’s Second Advent. As St. Paul wrote in the great book of II Corinthians chapter 4:
2Co 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Yes, Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior, is the Light of this world, but not the “god of this world.” Christ’s kingdom is yet to come. And it will not come until He’s cleansed this old earth of Satan’s stench. Until that time, Satan is the “god of this world” who blinds the minds of all non-Christian peoples.
As it’s written in the great book of Revelation, it’s not until the sound of the seventh trump that our Lord and Savior becomes King of this world:
Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Nevertheless, as it is further written in the great book of Ephesians, Jesus Christ has been set at God’s right hand “in heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.” (Ephesians 1:21)
In other words, He’s in charge over everything. But Satan has been given temporary rule of this flesh world age. He is indeed its god. And he has helpers, as well. As it is further written, in instruction to God’s elect:
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Our real enemies are not flesh and blood, but instead, the devil and the “rulers of darkness of this world,” which is to say, Satan’s little helpers who rule with him from on high, and who will come to this earth with him when he’s finally cast out just before Christ’s second advent.
In the meantime, the church – the ecclesia, or called out ones, under the direction of Jesus Christ, who is the head of that church, with the church being His earthly body — are here to take as much spiritual ground as possible away from Satan, until Christ Himself arrives to finish the job.
And that’s why we stand adamantly opposed to abortion – baby murder – even though it has become “the norm” among the vast majority of the world’s population.
This flesh world age – with Satan at its head – is a testing ground. It’s designed to see who will embrace and follow our heavenly Father’s Word, or who will embrace and follow Satan’s ways.
People constantly ask me, “Steve, why does God allow things like abortion to happen?” The answer is: He doesn’t. We do.
In the sixth commandment He’s clearly told us “Thou shalt do no murder.” (Often mistranslated “Thou shalt not kill.”)
And in multiple accounts throughout the Bible, we’re admonished by Jesus Christ Himself not to even so much as “offend” or “stumble” a child, much less murder one. As it’s written:
Luke 17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
He also stated that we should never attempt to prevent a little child from coming to Him. As it’s written:
Matthew19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Personally, I can’t think of a better admonition against abortion, because in this flesh the ultimate way of preventing children from coming to the Lord is killing them before they ever get the chance.
Short of sincere repentance, the abortionists and their supporters will have that millstone hung around their neck at Christ’s Second Advent, meaning, euphemistically, they will not be allowed into our heavenly Father’s eternal kingdom. They will be done away with in the great lake of fire, on the Judgment Day. Too much innocent blood on their hands. And that includes most of our governmental and spiritual leaders who have not so much as lifted a finger to stop the ongoing slaughter of abortion.
