You’d be hard-pressed today to find a Christian denomination that doesn’t believe in, and teach, an eternal fiery hell in which sinners are roasted alive in the flames forever and ever. While such depictions may have made great, epic poetry for poets such as Dante, Bible-based Christians need to understand that religious tradition all too often makes void the truth of God’s Word. It becomes a fabricated substitute for what God’s Word actually says on a matter. And substituting a lie in place of God’s Word, however well-intentioned, is not in the least bit pleasing to our heavenly Father. Here’s what God’s Word says actually happens to unrepentant sinners after they’re judged.

Please explain these verses, if we are to die a second death and will be no more??
Mark 9:44-48 King James Version (KJV)
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Actually, Melissa, the old mainstream Protestant denominations have long since abandoned the doctrine of eternal conscious torment. And some evangelicals (not fundamentalists) have begun believing in annihilation. But he’ll does loom over many Christians still.
