There are two important virgins discussed in the Bible whose pregnancies were of supernatural origin. Most Christians don’t realize that the first one was mother Eve, the young, virgin wife-to-be of Adam. And the second, of course, was Mary, the betrothed virgin wife-to-be of Joseph. Both had angelic visitations just before their pregnancies. And both of them conceived as a direct result of those visitations – one, being a very holy conception brought about by the power of God, and one being quite carnal, being brought about by an act of spiritual and physical seduction.
