In Old Testament Law, any member of the priestly class who had a physical blemish (i.e., missing a body part, such as an eye, a finger, etc.), or anything superfluous (i.e., such as an extra toe, an unnatural growth, etc.) could not approach God’s altar to offer the bread offering. This was not a punishment. It was a spiritual “type” demonstrating a specific characteristic that those who teach God’s Word — particularly in the final days of this flesh earth age — must have if they want their work to be pleasing to the Lord and their commission as teachers to be a successful one in God’s eyes. Unfortunately, there are many spiritually blemished and spiritually superfluous preachers in the world today, who are churning out spiritually blemished and spiritually superfluous congregations.
